The first Serbian Soccer Club was formed over fifty years ago in
Milwaukee, Wisconsin and stemmed from a long and robust love
of soccer, or “futbol” as it is called in many parts of the soccer
world. A wave of Serbian immigrants who had arrived in the greater
Milwaukee area after World War II became the club’s founders.
Many of the immigrants were from various regions of the former
Yugoslavia, including Serbia, Bosna & Hercegovina, Crna Gora,
Dalmacia, Makedonia, Vojvodina, Slovenia & Krajina. St. Sava
Orthodox Church located on the corner of 51st Street & Oklahoma
Avenue has been home to the Soccer Club since its’ beginnings.

During the club’s inception, youth teams and adult teams were
formed. Over the next thirty years or so, the club saw many changes
and had many successes. In 1989 a decision was made to form
a youth only division in the league. A newly formed U-8 boy’s team
was the beginning of a succession of teams that were formed and
eventually turned into the youth division. In the early 1990s, the youth
division officially broke away from the adult division which is today
known as the United Serbian SC, Majors Team. The official name
of the youth division became known as United Serbian Youth Soccer
Club (USYSC) and exists alongside the adult division.

USYSC today encompasses recreational and competitive teams
that include both boys and girls. Volunteer coaches, many former
major league players, and board members support the 12 team
league (club/organization) and continuously look to enhance the
soccer experience at every level. Operating as a non-for-profit
organization the club successfully budgets and supports all age
levels (U-6 through U-18) by providing fall/spring league games,
an indoor practice facility, partial funding for indoor league games,
funding for tournaments and is host to an annual tournament. We
invite anyone interested in playing soccer to come to our try-outs
watch for postings on our web-site). We encourage players from
any ethnic background to try-out. We are a club with a number of
different and diverse ethnic backgrounds. We’re growing stronger
every season and are continually looking to add more teams and
benefits to our club members.
